Sign up now for multimedia training
We're offering a training session June 2 on how to tell a story using an audio slideshow
Come join us Saturday, June 2 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. for a training session on Soundslides, a popular computer program used by journalists to create online audio slideshows. We'll hold the training in a computer lab (Room 140) at the North City campus of the San Diego Community College District, 8401 Aero Dr. Our trainers at the session will be Yvette de la Garza and Jeff Dillon, both of the SignOnSanDiego staff. We'll have photos and sound clips loaded on the machines so you can follow along and create your own slideshow, with the help of our instructor from SignOn San Diego. We're also hoping to offer instruction on Audacity, a sound-editing program. Here's an example of an audio slideshow using Soundslides that appeared in the San Diego Union-Tribune: http://www.signonsandiego.com/more/georges/
So take this opportunity to get on board with multimedia so you can keep up with the changing dynamics of online journalism. We're charging only $10 a person for this special opportunity, so sign up now before we fill up. Send your RSVP to Lori Weisberg at lori.weisberg@uniontrib.com or contact her at 619-293-2251.
