Awards competition deadline extended

There's still time to turn in your entries. The new deadline is March 16

The San Diego chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists has extended the deadline for entries for its annual Journalism Awards contest. Entries are due March 16, and winners will be honored at our annual banquet in late June. We've extended the deadline for this year only due to an unusually late call for entries.

The contest honors the best work put out by our city's print, online, broadcast and student journalists in 2006. Note the changes we've made in our contest, which now allows various media, including online publications, to compete in our new reporting and writing category.
